The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua have a lot to work on before they play their warm up clash against the Melbourne Rebels, next Thursday.

This was the view of Drua captain, Nemani Nagusa, after their first trial match in Ballina, New South Wales in Australia last Sunday.

Nagusa indicated the support from the team had been huge after his selection to the captaincy role last month and he is excited about their Super Rugby Pacific debut on February 18.

“It has been good, having training the past two weeks.

“The boys have been supportive,” the veteran No.8 said.

“They are really working hard as well. So far, so good. For me it is a long time since I played again so it was really good to get out there with the boys, hit out with the boys.

“It’s really good. We learned a lot after the game about ourselves, about the team and the things we need to work on heading into the second warm up match against the Rebels.”

Nagusa said they are excited to play the Rebels who have got players like Flying Fijians halfback Moses Sorovi and former Fijian Under-20 winger, Ily Vudogo.

“First hit out, warm up match against a Super Rugby side so we are really looking forward to it. Get the boys a good run out and see how it goes.

“To the Drua) fans in Melbourne, please come down and support the boys. It will be really huge for the boys to have your support at the grounds in Melbourne.”

Meanwhile, the Drua will play against the Waratahs at the CommBank Stadium, in Parramatta, Sydney in their Super Rugby Pacific opener on February 18.
