The Fiji light heavyweight title is now vacant.

This was confirmed yesterday to SUNsports by Boxing Commission of Fiji chairman Adi Narayan.

“We’re grateful to (Savenaca) Naliva for vacating the title since he is finding it difficult to make the weight,” he said.

Narayan indicated that Naliva intends to move up to the cruiserweight division.

The light heavyweight category is at 79 kilogramme while the cruiserweight is between 82kg to 88kg.

Naliva won the light heavyweight title in 2019 after knocking out Joseph Kwadjo at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

He also challenged Fijian cruiserweight champion Alivereti Kauyaca in 2021 but lost on points.

Contenders for the light heavyweight title are Suva-based Kwadjo, Paulo Ratumaikoro, Apisai Naciqa, Eroni Ligaloa and Sebastian Singh.
