Namosi Prepares Against Navosa

The Namosi women’s team will face the rampant Navosa side in round 7 after beating Nadroga 39-13 last Saturday during the Round 6 of the ANZ Marama Championship at the Suva Grammar School ground.

Speaking to SUNsports, Namosi coach Elenoa Kunatuba said facing Navosa would be a big task as Navosa had thrashed Rewa 80-0 last week.

“They (Navosa) play free flowing rugby game as they basically run the game; they are quite aggressive in terms of their carries,” Kunatuba said.

Kunatuba revealed that the Namosi team will polish their tackling and improve on discipline to minimize penalties.

“Preparation for us week in and week out is that every game is final. I believe this week, we’ll be focusing more on trying to work together as a team and how we will be able to match Navosa upfront,” she said.

“We must maintain possession as Navosa converts points with every little possession they get.

“We’re helping out with their individual performance, this week; we’ll be working on our set-piece play as a unit, as a team.

“We’re currently leading with 28 points with Navosa second with 25 points if I’m correct, they haven’t released the table yet so.”

“We are urging our fans to come out in numbers and support the senior team alongside the Under 19 team in order to boost their performance on match day.”
