Nasinu U18 Ends 12-year Wait

It’s after 12 years the Nasinu Secondary School Under-18 rugby team has made it past the Vodafone Deans Trophy quarterfinal.
Nasinu U18 coach Semisi Yasiyasi said the last time they made it past the quarterfinal was in 2012.
This Saturday, the Southern Zone champions face Cuvu College in the Deans Trophy semifinal at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium. They had beaten Tailevu North College 17-13 in the quarterfinal.

“For the boys to make it to this stage is through sheer hard work and dedication,” he said.
“Like any other team, the boys have made sacrifices and although they are confident, they have opted to remain humble.”
Yasiyasi highlighted that they are facing a quality opponent in Cuvu College who upset Ratu Kadavulevu School 23-22.
“For this week, we’ll work on some areas of our game that needs to be perfected,” he added.
Nasinu Secondary School over the years have produced top rugby players like Lemeki Koroi, Setareki Tawake, former France winger Virimi Vakatawa, Sakeo Raloa and current Wallabies winger Marika Koroibete.
Yasiyasi has called on former Nasinu Secondary School ex-scholars, parents and guardians for support in their upcoming semifinal match.
