Nawaka Black Ready To Play

The Lasaro Bosiga captained- Nawaka Black sevens side are using the 35th Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s Sports Festival 2022 at the Prince Charles Park in Nadi today to test their potential.
The side will feature in Leg three of the 2022 Fun Flavour Super Seven Series at Churchill Park, Lautoka, next week.
“We are using the three-day tournament to test our armoury as we also have another battle next week,” Bosiga said.

“We have beaten some of the top teams in the Super Sevens Series; this week at our very own tournament there are some giantkillers we need to tame,” he said.
The Saunaka native who shares maternal links to Nawaka is confident that this band of men will revive the Nawaka glory days.
“It has been a while, this team has been on a mission to accomplish what our older brothers, uncles, cousins and fathers used to achieve on the local sevens circuit.
“It is our turn now and we will rise to accomplish it,” he said.
Nawaka Black are in Pool 12 alongside Paradise Beverages, Wainisuka and Pristine Warriors while Nawaka White is in Pool 8 alongside Fire, Restoration Rugby and Sabeto.
There will be a new winner in the men’s and women’s category as last year’s finallist Fiji Warriors (winner) and Fiji Barbarians are not playing this year as well as the women’s champion Senilagakali.
Nawaka Rugby Club president Eparama Sailo said the theme this year is ‘Unity in Sports’ with a total prize-money of $40, 000.
The sports festival will feature 84 (48 mens, 16 women, and 20 U20) rugby teams, 12 netball teams and 18 volleyball (11 mens and 7 womens) teams.
“This is part of supporting grassroots rugby so don’t miss it. Bring your families and friends.”
The men’s rugby, women’s and Under 20 start today, finals are on Saturday.
