Nemani Mudrelagi Eyes Coke Games 100m Gold Medal

Natabua High School student Nemani Mudrelagi aims to win a gold medal at the Co­ca-Cola Games in Suva next month.

This is after the Raiwaqa, Nadroga native took out the senior boys 100m final with a time of 11.13s during the Lautoka Yasawa Secondary Schools zone meet at Churchill Park, Lau­toka yesterday.

He beat Solomoni Korovulavula (Tilak High), who clocked 11.63s and team-mate Niumaia Sakealevu (11.64s).

“I will try to win a gold medal at the Cokes where competition will be really tough,” the 17-year old said.

Mudrelagi won a silver medal at the Coke Games last year where he finished behind Kolinio Radrudru of Suva Grammar School.

Salote Baravilala of Jasper Wil­liams High School won gold in sen­ior girls 100m ahead of team- mate Ateca Leiyamo and Meiva Romeo of Tilak High School respectively.

So far in the boys’ medal tally Na­tabua High lead with 14 gold, 6 sil­vers, 11 bronze medals followed by St Thomas with 5 gold, 4 silvers, 7 bronze. In the girls division, Jasper Williams lead with 18 gold, 10 sil­vers and 6 bronze medals while Na­tabua High have 2 gold medals and 5 bronze medals.
