Players of the Labasa football men’s side has been told to cut out their lazy approach towards their games and focus on winning them.

This was the message from Labasa head coach Ravneel Pratap after he observed their game against Nadi in the Digicel Fiji Premier League.

He was unhappy with the players’ attitude despite the 1-0 win over Nadi.

The Babasiga Lions play Nasinu on Sunday at the Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) academy ground in Suva at 2pm.

Pratap said playing Nasinu this week won’t be an easy task because Nasinu has lived-up to their underdog tag recently.

“We would take a cautious approach against Nasinu,” he added.

Nasinu has been boosted with the return of coach Tagi Vonolagi.

Pratap said they were working on improving their possession- based style of play because it allowed them to build momentum in their attacks.

Make use of your chances

He said his players cannot be casual because it affects their performance.

“We can’t lose the interest to just defend and not score goals. Players have been reminded to maximise their chances in front of goal,” he said.

With the Babasiga Lions gaining momentum in their performances and sitting on second position in the DFPL, another win is crucial in their campaign.

“We want to continue this winning form to stand a good chance of winning the League title.”

The Northerners for the first time this season, managed to win back-to-back matches after defeating Tailevu/Naitasiri 2-1 and Nadi 1-0 at home last week.
