Fijian 7s captain Seremaia (Jerry) Tuwai was handed his land title yesterday, which costs $ 141,700, as announced by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama last month.
Tuwai was recognised for his achievements being the only Fijian player who has won two Olympic gold medals, the Hong Kong 7s titles for five consecutive years and the World Rugby 7s Player of the Decade.
The Government has bought a residential lot at Tacirua East Subdivision for Tuwai, and $33,300 for the construction of a home.
Fiji Rugby Union chief executive officer John O’Connor and PM Bainimarama have pledged to get their friends on board to financially assist Tuwai in completing the house when he begins construction work.
