There will be no regrets heading into today’s final, says Nasinu Panthers Under-19 captain Ponipate Komai.
A new champion will be crowned in the U19 grade when the Panthers take on Ratu Kadavulevu School Eels in the final at the ANZ Stadium, Suva at 2pm.
Speaking to SUNsports yesterday Komai said his side would give the Eels a good game.
“We are super excited for the final with 24 hours left and the morale of the team is high,” he said.
“The final is tougher than any other games because it’s the final.
“There will be no excuses. We have been training hard for this opportunity, for this one game and the moment to write our names on the history book.”
Komai said during their training sessions I reminded the boys about creating their own legacy for their young brothers to follow.
“We’ll try our best to win against a very tough RKS team.
“They are the giants of secondary schools rugby league and we are humbled to meet them in the final. “Last weekend is forgotten and I reminded the boys to keep their heads down and keep working hard.”
Eels captain George Naqau said, the Lodoni brigade are ready for the final.
“We have been training well and we are ready to give Panthers a good game,” he said.
“I know we both want to win the cup but may the best team win come the final whistle. We will try our best to win for our school, fans and parents.”
