Alexis Pritchard who was the first New Zealand woman boxer to win a bout at the Olympic Games was today at the Commander Stan Brown Gym in Walu Bay, Suva, holding coaching clinics for our young boxers.

Pritchard is an Olympian and two-time Commonwealth Games athlete. She was born in South Africa and moved to New Zealand when she was 14. Pritchard took up boxing in 2013 to get fit.

Fiji Amateur Boxing Association president Manasa Baravilala said Pritchard was here through an invitation by national amateur boxing coach Cam Todd.

Todd also took coaching clinics on the boxers before the programme got underway. He is keeping a look out for potential boxers to represent Fiji at the Pacific Games in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
