The lack of communication between the players was the result of our downfall to a gusty Tailevu side.

This was the gist of Nadi coach Saula Rabaka’s interview after their 22-17 loss to Tailevu at Ratu Cakobau Park last Saturday.

“It was a high-pressure game as Tailevu was rushing up on defence and we made a lot of mistakes that cost us the game,” he said.

“Credit to the Tailevu team as luck was on our side as they scored the winning try in the last minute of the game.”

Rabaka said they have a lot of work to do before their next match against Nadroga.

“We need to improve our defence and our back three’s kicking,” he said.

“We also need to improve on our set piece and scrums.”

Rabaka said it was a positive sign to see that his side maintained ball retention.

“We had a few phases that resulted in two tries which shows potential. It’ll be a big game for us to take on Nadroga on their turf.”

Rabaka said they have a few injuries in their squad.

“We have some young Under-20 players coming in as potential cover for these injured players,” he said.

“We’ll put this loss behind us as it’s not the end of rugby and we’re looking forward to our next game.”

Rabaka said they are looking forward to progressing to the Skipper Cup quarterfinal and to defend the INKK Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy.
