Pacific Energy Fiji Motorcars racing record holder, Rabindra Nath, is not quitting any time soon.
He holds the best time of 9.75 seconds for the past eight years and the drizzle at yesterday’s race was a challenge.
His car recorded the best time of 10.58 and 10.56 seconds in his first and second run respectively.
“I started racing back in 1991,” Nath said.
“And I set my record in 2012, I have been holding the records for the past 15 years. I’m trying to break my record. I cannot move full throttle, the car is swerving, but today the track is not good. Too much pebble on the track, we cannot use full throttle.
“I’m over 70 years of age and I’m trying to break my record before retiring.”
Nath has been using the same car for about 14 years.
His time in December was 10.33s.
This was the first race for 2021 and he looked forward to set a new time in competitions set for this year.
