Raiwai Black Advance To The Semis

Raiwai Black men and women have pushed their way into the Hot Bread Kitchen Easter volleyball championship semi-finals at the Laucala multi-purpose courts.

Suva Blue women’s defeated Lautoka Green by two straight sets (25-15) (25-18) while their men’s side also won their quarter-final match against Lautoka Green in two straight sets(25-19) (25-24).

Raiwai Black men’s side has advanced to the semi-finals after beating Lautoka Ice in two straight sets (25-18), (25-12).

Speaking to Sunsport, Raiwai Black men’s coach Peni Ratumaiyale said their mission was to come and win at the 2023 the Easter Championship.

“The preparation was standard, we don’t want to go back home empty handed, it has been awhile not winning,” said Ratumaiyale.

The Raiwai Black men’s team is packed with experience with the services of former volleyball representatives Timoci Qio, Josua Volimailodoni, Vilimone Rokomurimuri and captain Nimilote Lua.

“The game plan is to focus. We had started slow but picked up close to the end.”

The Raiwai Black side will be working on their defence to beat the Suva Blue side in the first semi-final
