Rakiraki Ends 20 Years Of Winless Jinx

Jone Logani and Viticuweli Galivia starred for Rakiraki as it ended their 20-year winless jinx in winning the Digicel Fiji/ Rams Cleaning Serivces 45th Fiji Primary Schools Interdistrict Championship title at Garvey Park in Tavua, on Friday.
Rakiraki beat Nadi 5-4 on penalty kicks in the final after they were tied 1-1 at fulltime.
Logani and Galivia’s sterling performance was what that inspired the Rakiraki players to keep on trying harder.
Rakiraki last won the Fiji Primary Schools IDC title in 2001.
In the first semi-final, Nadi edged Lautoka 1-0 through an Aminiasi Nava goal in the 9th minute of play. Rakiraki upset defending champions Rewa 2-0 with Isimeli Eparama scoring both goals in the first half.
FPSFA general secretary Kamlesh Deo said it was a successful tournament.
"We thank all stakeholders involved for making this a successful tournament. We are working on the venue for the 2023 tournament and will reveal it later.”
