The Rewa football side focuses on getting maximum points to reach top position on the Vodafone Premier League(VPL) points table.
The ‘Delta Tigers’ will take on Ba at 3pm on Sunday at while at 1:30pm Dreketi takes on Tavua at Subrail Park.
Speaking to SUN sports yesterday, Rewa FA president Nazeel Buksh said preparations were on top as they focus on seizing goal scoring opportunities.
“With every weeks game it is becoming very critical of getting the points, to retain a top position on the league table,” Buksh said.
“At this time our position in the league’s points table is very critical and the players are aware of how important it is to secure a win in each week’s game and at the same time collecting maximum points.
“And with the level of competition from each team, it is becoming really crucial for us to improve our performance and standard of play. But at the same time we are trying our best to bounce back to the top position.
“So, from now onwards a win in all the games we play is a must as we want to win the VPL title and qualify for the champion’s league.
“We are expecting a tough game against Ba this weekend as we are aware they would come prepared after competing in the Oceania Football Confederation championship last week.
“But nevertheless our boys had ample week long break to prepare and reflect themselves on where we are heading off as a team now.
“One crucial area that the side will be looking at improving the team’s performance would be seizing goal scoring opportunities as previously in our game against Lautoka and Labasa we didn’t score any goal so we really need to work on our attacking skills this week.
“I would like to urge to all the Delta Tiger fans to please come out in numbers and support the side this weekend as their support will be a great source of encouragement for the side.”
