The Rewa Under-16 football team thrashed Northland Tailevu 4-0 in the Vodafone U16 League clash at the Fiji Football Association academy ground, Suva, yesterday.
Speaking to SUNsports, Rewa U16 coach Nigel Khan was pleased with their winning run throughout the first round of competition.
“It’s great to see them play according to what we’ve expected,” he said.
“And I think the reason these boys have been doing well is because most of them have been playing together for the past two years. We are also banking on most of these under-16 players to feature in our under-19 side as well. However, despite our win today I think the boys lacked discipline as some wrong decisions were made.”
Khan said they are focusing on winning the U16 title and for the players to be scouted by other districts or by the national team coaches.
Meanwhile, in the U19 competition Navua pipped Suva 1-0 while Rewa thrashed Nasinu 5-0.
