Defending Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League Under- 19 champions Ratu Kadavulevu School is on track to defend the Colin Love Trophy.
The Lodoni side defeated neighbours Queen Victoria School 26-18 in the Southern/Eastern Zone U19 semi-final at Buckhurst Park, Suva yesterday.
What Happened
QVS got off to a strong start scoring their first try in the 11th minute through Semi Savubula, converted by Lazarus Fong.
RKS fought back and scored in the 17th minute through Josefa Poe, converted by Jone Vatuwaliwali.
The boys from Delainakaikai continued to apply pressure on the Victorians scoring their second try to Marika Rabuku in the 26th minute and Napolioni Seru in the 29th minute. Vatuwaliwali was successful with the conversions.
Just a minute left before halftime QVS struck back and scored their second try through Naisa Finau.

The Victorians lifted intensity in the second half scoring their third try in the 38th minute to Savubula. RKS having the advantage of experienced players saw Vatuwaliwali running in for their fourth try and converting it. QVS continued to fight on and replied with their third try in the 52nd minute by Setareki Coqabula. RKS played a more structured attacking game which saw Paula Tuinaserau running in for their fifth try in the 56th minute and was successful with conversion.

RKS coach Jone Vosataki said ;“We didn’t want to carry the name tag as defending champions but all we want these players to do is to display their best performance and gave their all.
“QVS was a good team, we acknowledge them for a great game they kept on applying pressure but our boys kept to our game structures and played according to plan.
“Now we look forward to the zone final next Saturday.”
RKS will play Nasinu Secondary School in the U19 final next Saturday, Nasinu defeated John Wesley College in the first U19 semifinal 28-26.
In the U15 grade RKS have also booked their spot in the final after defeating QVS 18-10 and will play Nasinu Secondary School who defeated Sila Central 8-6.
In the U17 grade Ratu Sukuna Memorial defeated Marist 32-22 and Nasinu beat QVS 22-18 to book their berth in the final.
