Digicel Fijian Women’s football training squad will go into camp this weekend at the Fiji Football Association’s Academy in Vatuwaqa, Suva.
Fijian Women’s head coach Marika Rodu said their main objective is to start their preparations for the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs.
“The camp will give us opportunities to check on the status of the players, injuries, fitness and also start an early preparation for the July playoffs,” he said.
Rodu said they would conduct monthly camps in between the Digicel Super Women’s League to see how they’ve progressed.
“The numbers are more but I’m getting 29 players at the moment. Some players are also in the national Under-19 team that will go into camp during the second week of the school holidays.”
Rodu said he would reduce the numbers as they get closer to the competition.
