Rosi Wins Girls’ Blue Ribbon Event
Adi Cakobau School sprinter, Repeka Rosi clocked a manual time of 12.79 seconds to win the Triple N zone blue ribbon event at the HFC Bank stadium, Suva, yesterday.

Adi Cakobau School sprinter, Repeka Rosi clocked a manual time of 12.79 seconds to win the Triple N zone blue ribbon event at the HFC Bank stadium, Suva, yesterday.
She ran 0.16 seconds faster than Inter-house champion Kinisalote Navula. ACS won the top three places in the race where Navula clocked 12.95 seconds and Amele Navabale running in third clocking 13.10 seconds.
Rosi is from Cikobia, Macuata with maternal links to Drekeniwai, Navatu, Cakaudrove.
She said her win was only possible through God.
“Firstly, I would like to thank God,” an emotional Rosi said.
“Our preparation has not been easy.
“I wanted to give up at times because of not enough preparation but winning today is not through my strength but the Almighty’s.”
The Year 13 student indicated she will take her training to another level before the Coca-Cola Games on
August 18-20 at the HFC Stadium.
“There is tight competition within the ACS team; I’ll try my best to step up another level.
“There are many schools that are training hard for this 100m event but if it’s God’s will for me to win then good luck for me.
“I want to advice athletes who want to give up at times, cast your burden unto the Lord and He will lead you through.”
Meanwhile ACS retained their Triple N girls’ division title winning 41 gold, 25 silver and 17 bronze.
Tied with three gold medals each Naitasiri Secondary School edged Lomaivuna High School with more silver medals.
NSS came second with 3 gold, 9 silver, and 5 bronze while LHS finished third with 3 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze.
Nakasi High School was crowned new winners of the boys’ division with 16 gold, 9 silver and 7 silver.
Dethroned champions, Lelean Memorial School won 8 gold, 10 silver, and 6 bronze to settle in second place while Sila Central High School came third with 4 gold, 7 silver and 13 bronze.
