Roy Nears Recovery, Leaves Odisha FC

Fiji Football captain Roy Krishna has officially parted ways with Odisha FC and all eyes are now on his next move as he nears full recovery from a serious knee injury.

The 36-year-old, who has been a key figure in the Indian Super League since 2019 with successful stints at ATK (now Mohun Bagan Super Giants), Bengaluru FC and disha FC. Roy suffered the injury in November, last year and underwent surgery in December.

He spent the early months of rehabilitation with Odisha FC and is now completing the final phase of his recovery at Rapid Sports in Bangalore.

“I’m feeling strong again,” Roy said.

“This was a setback, not the end. I’ve worked hard and I’m ready to get back on the pitch.”

Following the completion of his rehab at the end of June, Krishna will return home to to spend time with family and continue training while finalising his next destination.

Roy’s management is in active talks with several clubs as they seek the right fit for his return.

Despite the injury, his commitment and drive remain clear.

“I still have more to give to club and country. I’m motivated and focused on what’s next.”

Krishna has confirmed his availability for the national team and remains determined to make a strong comeback.

With the Bula Boys preparing for the King’s Cup in Thailand later this year, the veteran striker is focused on regaining peak form and contributing once again at both club and international levels.
