The emergence of the Macuata women’s rugby team in the Royal Tea Ranadi Cup competition has been further boosted as they now have a club competition.
The Macuata women’s rugby side has topped their pool and is now awaiting the Royal Team Ranadi Cup quarterfinals.
Macuata women’s rugby coach Motu Lalagavesi said player development is the central focus of the team.
She supported the need to have a women’s club competition where players can compete as well to boost the player’s talent pool.
“Selection of quality and effective players is a challenge since we don’t have that much competition for our women. Now our union has offered a lifeline by including women in the weekly club competition.”
