Government is willing to support the Fiji Airways men's and women's rugby sevens teams in their preparations for next year's Paris Olympic Games in France.

This was confirmed by the Minister of Youth and Sports Jese Saukuru during an interview with SUN sports, this week.

This was after Fiji  Rugby Union interim Trustees chairman Peter Mazey indicated on June 27, of plans to slash the  budget of  the  national sevens teams.

"For HSBC sevens we will work on budget cuts," Mazey had said then. "It's quite hard to send all our players into camps for long times, for camps held in tourist resorts which cost $25k a week; we can't afford that."

Saukuru said Government, would always be there for the national sevens teams.
