About 150 students of Marist Champagnat Institute participated in their annual interhouse competition at the ANZ Stadium in Suva, yesterday.
Speaking to SUNsports, Assistant principal Kathy Foi said they are not having a high expectation from their athletes but are hopeful that they qualify for the zone and Coca-Cola Games.
“This is actually the first time we have had the interhouse meet hosted at the ANZ Stadium which is a new experience for the students,” she said.
“These students are very excited to participate with a lot energy and enthusiasm.
“And we don’t have much high expectations from our students as you all aware these are special students and all we hope for is that they qualify for the zone and Coca-Cola Games.
“As one of our expectations is their presence and the fact that they get to enjoy the sport is very important and if they get something out of their participation then it will be great for them and the school as a whole.”
Foi said she will announce the winning team during today’s school assembly.
