The Suva Marathon Club (SMC) announced the launch of Run Suva 2023. This year’s event sees our return to Queen Elizabeth Drive on Saturday, November 4, after a few years away due to COVID-19 and the recent road works.

In a statement, the SMC stated from the success of our Namosi Marathon, where they saw the largest number of participants, Run Suva 2023 promises to be another fun event for Fiji runners and walkers of all fitness levels.

“This year’s event includes the Jack’s of Fiji Suva10k and the BSP Life Wellness 5k Fun Run as we recognise the support of Jack’s of Fiji and BSP Life who have come on board as sponsors sharing the SMC vision of fostering a culture of fitness, friendship, and community engagement,” it stated.

Speaking on the collaboration, Iftekhar Ali, Jack’s of Fiji regional manager central said: “XL Sports along with Jack’s of Fiji are proud to support Run Suva 2023 and sponsor the 10k race because we wholeheartedly believe in promoting an active sports lifestyle and fostering good health within our community.

“We understand the positive impact that events put on by the Suva Marathon Club can have on individuals' physical well-being and overall quality of life, and we are committed to encouraging people to embrace a healthy, active lifestyle.”

Arieta Cama, general manager Human Resources at BSP Life said: “BSP Life proudly sponsors the wellness 5KM Fun Run, aligned with the Walk On Walk Strong 1 billion step challenge.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to community wellness and supporting WOWS initiatives.

“Join us on November 4 for a vibrant event promoting wellness and contributing to a billion steps towards a healthier Fiji.”

Speaking on the collaboration, Beth Sargent, SMC president said: “We’re excited to bring Fiji another great event with Run Suva 2023, thanks to the generous support of Jack’s of Fiji and BSP Life. “Following events in Pacific Harbour and Namosi this year, we are back to the lovely Suva seawall for our last major run of the year.

“So whether you’re keen for a brisk walk or a spirited run, join us on the 4th of November with your colleagues, friends and family members.

“Run Suva 2023 will commence in front of the Suva Bowling Club, where both races will begin.”
