Statistics have revealed that the Rooster Chicken Fijiana side can create an upset against South Africa tomorrow at Waitakere Stadium, Auckland in New Zealand.

Set piece ticked the stats as they were dominant in some areas against England in their first pool game.

With two more games to go, a good performance against South Africa by the Fijiana will surely send a strong statement in the rugby world cup.

According to ESPN Sports match stats Fiji won 4/5 scrums with an 80 per cent completion rate, winning 7/8 line outs with an 87 per cent completion rate.

They had 513 runs, nine kicks, 114 passes and ran the ball 95 times.

Fijiana had five clean breaks, 21 defenders beaten, 9 offloads, 62/67 rucks won with a 92 per cent success rate.

South Africa won 6/8 scrums with a 75 per cent completion rate, winning 15/19 lineouts with a completion rate of 78 per cent.

The French had 23 kicks, 323 runs, 106 passes, 101 runs.

The South Africans had five clean breaks, 14 defenders beaten, six offloads, 77/81 rucks won with a 95 per cent success rate.

Emotional

According to Fijiana head coach Senirusi Seruvakula the side has learnt a lot from their set piece play against England.

“Our set-pieces from the scrums, lineouts to rucks and mauls have been the focus of training this week,” he said.

“We need to do the little things right and everything else will fall into place against the South Africans."

“The girls had held off the English scrum in our first game and that was a proud moment for me."

“I was so emotional to see these girls turn up and give the English a good run for their money."

“If they can do that against England there is no doubt they’re going to do the same against South Africa."

“Set piece play can really change the outcome of the game and these girls will put on a good show.”
