The Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua journey in the Super W competition is an inspiration.

These were comments shared yesterday in a zoom interview with the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua head coach Mick Byrne.

The Fijiana Drua is the only unbeaten team in the Super W after beating defending champions Waratahs 29-10 at the Cbus Stadium in Round 5.

Byrne indicated that moving away from home was not easy, but the Fijiana squad members proved that nothing was impossible.

“The ladies have shown what’s possible,” Byrne said.

“Putting a team together like coming over, staying away from home (Fiji), living at a couple different places and travelling around and just turning up on the day and play have been awesome,” he said.

“It’s been inspiring for the boys to see the Fijiana Drua team play in the final.

“It was great they knocked out the Waratahs when they played them the last time.

“It’ll be great to see our Fijiana team coming out and win that tournament in the weekend. “

The Fijiana Drua will take on Waratahs at 4pm at AAMI Park in Melbourne on Saturday.
