Suva Grammar sprinter runs for Vanuatu

From representing Suva Grammar School at the Coca-Cola Games and to run for Vanuatu at the Sol2023 Pacific Games has been a great achievement for Claudie David.
The Year 11 student clocked a time of 12.75 seconds in the women’s 100metres heat and 12.55s in the semifinals. Last night Claudie ran in the final. Although she did not win any medal, she has achieved her goal of participating at the Honiara Games.
Claudie and her older sister Chloe were top sprinters for Grammar at this year’s Coke Games Chloe was selected to represent Vanuatu at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest and the Oceania Cup in Saipan in June. Claudie represented Vanuatu in the Commonwealth Youth Games in Spain in August.

“My first Pacific Games, so far so good,” she told SUNsports.
“My aim was to reach the finals.
“It’s a different type of experience and I look forward to gain more experience from these events.
“My toughest opponent was the girl from Guam.”
Chloe could not participate since she had to sit for her Year 13 examination at Suva Grammar School.
