Suva wins Skipper Cup, $30k Richer

FMF Suva maintained its undefeated run and walked away with $30k as the new 2023 Skipper Cup champions.

They defeated Jacks Nadi 16-3 at the HFC Bank Stadium, Suva.

Nadi opened the scores with a penalty from Rafaele Tunidau in the first half and the the two sides remain try less until the breather.

Suva missed a penalty and Nadi led 3-0 at half time.

Suva halfback Terio Tamani put Suva on the score board when he slotted in a penalty after missing his first.

Both sides were tied at 3-all at the 56th minute before Suva slotted another two penalties and led 9-3.

Suva further extended their lead, 16-3, after scoring a try. Tamani converted the try.

Suva was left with 14-men a few minutes before the final whistle, however Nadi could not use it to their advantage as time was not on their side.

Nadi walked away with $10k.

Under 20 winners FMF Suva won $5k while Naitasiri Under-20 took home $2k.
