Tailevu Club Comp Gaining Momentum

Clubs wanting to play in the Tailevu Rugby Union competition will have to pay for their registra­tion fee of $1500 by tomorrow.

This was confirmed to SUNsports by TRU secretary Josefa Turaganivalu as their pre-season matches contin­ued at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori yesterday.

“This is the second of our pre-season competition and it’s a bonus for the clubs as they participate to prepare for the upcoming season,” he said.

“Right now, the purpose of holding these pre-season games is materialising and we’re now getting there. As of today, we’ve had a good turn­out of fans.”

Turaganivalu said when the club competition gets un­derway it’s back to playing 80 minutes rugby as they focus on preparing their teams (under-19 and major) for the Skipper Cup Premiership.

Tailevu Rugby have been known for producing top play­ers like Waisiki Masirewa, Inoke Male, Seremaia Bai, Meli Tamanitoakula, James Vuli, Henry Seniloli, Sunia Sevu, Jone Kaila, Apenisa Sassen, Lance Whippy, Rupeni Caucaunibuca, Epeli Ruivadra and so on.

Results: Cautata 5-0 Natakala, Qionimaravu 3-10, Nasausau, Nausori 10-5 Kasavu, Cadranasiga 10-27 Vunimono, Cautata 12-0 Kuku, Vunivaivai 5-3 Qionimaravu, Bau 7-8 Kasavu.
