Super sub Inoke Rokocati was the toast of the Tailevu side when he scored the winning try in the corner to seal their 22-17 win over Nadi at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori, last Saturday.

“I was happy that the last attacking play and my first touch of the ball resulted in the try that guaranteed us the win,” he told SUNsports.

“We were advised to patiently wait for our chance and to strike when the opportunity presents itself.”

Rokocati is hopeful that his rugby career in Australia flourishes.

“We are all blessed with our sporting talents but it’s the way it is utilised is important. That goes with hard work and determination,” he said.

“My advice to young people who play rugby that the Skipper Cup is a perfect pathway towards a professional rugby career.”

The former Lelean Memorial School student dedicated the win against Nadi to his family in Daku village.

“I hope to continue playing with my club in Australia and possibly aim for the Fijian Drua,” he added.
