Former All Blacks 7s and XVs rep Tanerau Latimer believes the Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team have what it takes to clinch the 2018/19 HBSC World Sevens Series at the last stop in Paris, France this weekend.
Latimer is in the country as part of the coaching team from the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union in New Zealand.
“Any Fijian team that goes to the World Seven Series got a real shot at winning the series,” he said.
“I recently watched 7s rugby and they have picked up on their fitness and that comes with their fortitude and it has changed a lot from the time I was playing that is from 2004 to 2005.”
Latimer was part of Sir Gordon Tietjens- coached New Zealand 7s team during the Rugby World Cup 7s in 2005 where they lost the final to Fiji 29-19 in Hong Kong.
