Tappoos’ Assistance Boost Pro- Am Event

Tappoo Group of Companies director Kaushal Tappoo on Tuesday handed $5000 to the Fiji Professional Golfers Association (Fiji PGA) president Vikrant Chandra for this weekend’s Woodstock Open Pro-Am.
Sam Lee has confirmed his participation in the Denarau Golf and Racquet club event to defend his title.
Lee had won last year with a score of 65, seven under par.
Other contenders are Roneel Prakash and Tomasi Tuivuna of Suva and Zoheer Ahmad.
“So far 90 players have registered, this is also the trial for the Pacific mini Games later in June,” tournament director Amitesh Chandra said.
Fiji’s top amateur Abid Hussein leads the amateurs’ category.
The format is stroke play; it is limited to 100 players on first pay basis. Late entries will only be accepted if there is space availability.
“We will continue supporting to upgrade competition, give back to the community and assist professional golfers polish their skills,” Tappoo said.
“We thank Kaushal and the Tappoo group for their support, as this is the second year we are hosting the event,” Chandra said.
The event begins with registration at 9am, event briefing is at 9:50am and shotgun tee-off at 10 am.
