Taveuni, First Timer For Deans
For the first time secondary schools on Taveuni Island join the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Rugby Association competition this year.

For the first time secondary schools on Taveuni Island join the Vodafone Fiji Secondary Rugby Association competition this year.
The Taveuni schools include Holy Cross College, Niusawa Methodist High and Bucalevu Secondary School.
During the announcement yesterday, zone President Rusiate Kele Musudroka confirmed that 32 schools will feature in this year’s North zone.
He also confirmed that Bua Central College is back after pulling out in 2011.
“We have managed to develop secondary schools rugby in other sub zones under the Northern zone,” Musudroka said.
“Most years, we only have Savusavu and Macuata coming to Viti Levu, to meet the South and the Eastern teams.
“This year Taveuni is joing while Bua is returning to the competition,” he said.
“After trying for so long, for the first time Taveuni has come on board.”
The North will be represented by four sub zones; Macuata, Bua, Savusavu and Taveuni.
On Week 5, August 20, is the North One and North Two final between Savusavu and Taveuni to determine North Two winner while Bua versus Macuata will determine the North One winner.
“Week 6, we will have the first Northern rally for secondary schools, to determine the four top rugby schools in the Northern division,” he said.
“In the ninth week, the two top teams will come to Suva to meet the Southern and Eastern top sides.
“Hopefully they will both qualify for the quarters. Hopefully it will be a good year for the Northern schools this year,” Musudroka added.
