Tela said he was taking on the challenge to play against O’Connor, who is former schoolmate.
“I’ve played with him in the Brisbane competition as well as being part of that Reds squad,” he said.
“I’ve been getting messages from a few of those boys, but we cross that line it’s a different story. James O’Connor has beeen around for a little while now.
“From my past experience with the Reds, I have travelled with him to tours to South Africa and Japan.
“He helped me experience big moments and get into the professional environment.”
The 30-year-old, showed his class when he came in as a sub in the second half against the Rebels and booted over 14 points in their 31-26 maiden win.
The match kicks off at 8.45pm and is shown live on Sky Pacific and FBC TV.
But before that at 6.15pm, the Fijiana Drua face Queensland Reds Women in the second round of the Super W clash.
