Buy your Coca-Cola Games tickets, when it goes on sale from tomorrow, at the Games headquarters at McGregor Road in Suva.
This was the message from Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association general secretary Vuli Waqa.
The Games return after two years of cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
More than 2000 students will be participating in the three-day annual athletics meet at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, which is from August 18-20.
Speaking to SUNports, yesterday Waqa urged all students, parents, old scholars and fans to buy their tickets early.
“We’re looking forward to a sell-out crowd for the three-day athletics competition,” he said.
“The Games have returned after a lapse of two years and it will be interesting to see the turnout.
“We believe it will be a good competition because this is one annual competition that brings the nation together.
“There are about 135 schools participating in the meet and over 2000 athletes who are taking part in the track and field events.
“The impact of COVID has really struck some schools badly and that’s why they are not participating in this year’s Games.”
Waqa hopes that the games will return to normal with more schools participating from next year.
“It has been a tough two years for most of the students and schools out there,” he said.
“Hopefully, next year we’ll return back to normal with more schools participating.”
