Top Guns For Tiliva 7s

Fiji Airways Fijian 7s playmaker Livai Ikanikoda will be part of the champion Police Blue side that are going to play in the Silverwaters Tiliva 7s and Netball Festival which is on April 25-26.
This was confirmed during a press conference in Suva yesterday.
Festival official Epeli Vakatawa said the Police Blue side who are the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s champions have stepped in to replace Nawaka Black.

“The Police side have been put as the top seed for Pool D,” he said.
“Also we have the Ravuka Sharks from Nadroga who are guided by Mosese Volavola and Etonia Naba.”
Vakatawa said they are also happy that the Waimanu 7s team have confirmed their participation.
“This is one of the experienced 7s rugby club in the country,” he added.
Over the years Waimanu have produced top 7s players like Sailosi Naiteqe (Jnr), Nasoni Roko, Rokini Kiliraki and the list goes on.
However, the Police Blue are expected to field Ikanikoda, Olympian Kitione Taliga, former Flying Fijians winger Alipate Ratini, Meli Kurisaru and Rusiate Matai.
Vakatawa said they are grateful to the Fiji Rugby Union for supporting their tournament.
He said the FRU development manager Koli Sewabu has agreed that a development team led by Joeli Tubu would be conducting training on a Level 1 sevens rugby coaching certificate and also a Level 1 sevens referee and match official certificate.
‘We’re calling on those in Kadavu who are interested to attend the seminars and to be at Tiliva District School on April 24.”
For the netball, official Makereta Korobiau said they have 10 teams registered with two coming from Suva.
“We’re still open in taking in teams and those that are interested can call us on 8673361,” she added.
