Tough Pool for Fijiana 7s in Perth

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side is not taking any team lightly at the HSBC SVNS Perth 7s which kicks off tomorrow.

They will take on Brazil in their opening match at 4pm tomorrow at HBF Park.

They are in Pool B with France and Spain; Fuli says it would be a difficult one.

They are currently third on the HSBC series ladder with 24 points.

“The current HSBC 7s series is tough as every team is trying to qualify for the grand final in Madrid, so we’re treating every game as a final and knockout system,” Fuli said.

“It’s good to be challenged and that’s the way forward.

“We are in a tough pool and we want to start the New Year on a positive note.”

Fijiana faces Spain at 8:47pm tomorrow before they take on France.

Their last pool game against France is scheduled for 2:22pm on Saturday.

Australia women’s are in Pool A alongside Canada, Great Britain and South Africa while Pool C sees New Zealand, USA, Ireland and Japan.

Meanwhile the Fijian men’s team is in the ‘pool of death’, drawn alongside New Zealand, Samoa and France in Pool C while series leaders Argentina is in Pool A along with Dubai winners South Africa, Canada and Spain.

Pool B has Australia, Ireland, Great Britain and the USA.
