Track Change 'Long Overdue'
Those concerns prompted SUNSports to reach out to the Fiji Sports Council (FSC) for some answers. Here is an exert of a response from the council.

Of the many things that requires urgent attention at the HFC Bank Stadium, it is the depleted 400-metre track.
The same track, upgraded in 2013, has helped produced great athletes in the past.
Ten years later, leading up to the 2023 Coca-Cola Games, the poor condition of the track is an eye-sore and poses a risk to athletes who use it.
The matter was highlighted by the president of the Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association, Marika illuinaceva, after teachers raised similar concerns during the Coke Games.
