Defending champion, Taki Mai Club, is determined to dominate the men’s, women’s, mixed, Under-16, and mix Masters of the Nadi Touch Rugby Association finals at the Fiji Airports grounds in Namaka tomorrow.
NTRA president Josefa Niumataiwalu said Taki Mai has dominated this season with their teams putting up electrifying display of athleticism and skills.
“Taki Mai Club, has been dominating the NTRA scene since 2022, they are the team to beat and they are favourites in the knockout stages,” Niumataiwalu said.
“With their impressive track record and experience, they possess a wealth of talent capable of overcoming challenges thrown their way.
“They have consistently showcased their prowess, both individually and as a team, proving that they are a force to be reckoned with.”
However, this season’s surprise package Police mix and men’s teams have been also putting up shows of brilliance.
“As underdogs in the competition, the Police mix and men’s teams have displayed unwavering determination, resilience, and teamwork throughout the season,” he said.
Niumataiwalu added that NTRA’s main focus is in grassroots development and empowering youths.
The association has successfully secured the sponsorship of Magical Fun House.
“This partnership has allowed greater emphasis on nurturing young talents and promoting the sport at the grassroots level.
“Magical Fun House has provided us the necessary resources to organize youth development programmes, training camps, and coaching clinics to enhance the skills-set of touch rugby enthusiasts.”
