Born and raised in Australia, Fijian Drua prop Emosi Tuqiri finally got a taste of what it’s like to play in the Skipper Cup competition.

Tuqiri, a former Fiji Under-20 and Melbourne Rebels forward played for Nadroga in their Skipper clash against Namosi at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

Tuqiri played a crucial role in the 41-24 win as Nadroga dominated play upfront.

“It was good to have a run in the Skipper Cup competition at Lawaqa Park to keep my fitness at Super Rugby standards,” the 23-year-old said.

Tuqiri was one of the four Drua players that ran out for Nadroga that made an impact on that game against Namosi.

He was called into the Flying Fijians squad to replace Jone Koroiduadua during last year’s World Cup.
