Vateitei Wins Bronze at Va’a World Championships
“I paddled my heart out and wouldn’t have made it this far without all my supporters and I just want to thank them all,” Vateitei added.

Fiji’s current v1 champion Elenoa Vatetei finished third at the V1 Va’a World Championship in Apia, Samoa, yesterday.
The 24-year-old has been paddling as a junior since her high school days at St Joseph’s Secondary School.
The Namuka in Bau, Tailevu native finished strong defeating top teams including Tahiti.
She shares maternal links to Navuti, Moturiki, Lomaiviti.
Vateitei said it was a humbling experience to represent Fiji at the world championship.
“I could have done better; it’s a blessing to be paddling with the best from around the world.
“I paddled my heart out and wouldn’t have made it this far without all my supporters and I just want to thank them all,” Vateitei added.
She is a graduate of the University of the South Pacific and works at Kon Tiki Finance.
France won gold while New Zealand took silver in the open women’s V1.
Meanwhile, Stanley Ooms will participate in today’s Master 40 men v1 while Salome Tabuatalei will compete in the Master 60 women v1.
