Village Hosts Hong Kong 7s Heroes

A traditional iTaukei ceremony of iVakama­maca was accorded to the players to honour their success.

The Turaga na Tui Navitilevu, Ratu Paula Baleisasa and the people of the village of Navuniivi in Nakorotubu, Ra welcomed members of the Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team to celebrate their fifth year-in-a-row win at the Hong Kong 7s.

The national 7s team captain Paula Drani­sinkula who also hails from the village and he was accompanied by Josua Vakurinabili, Meli Derenalagi, Terio Tamani and Aminiasi Tuimaba. Also present at the event was Master Tomasi Macedru and Fiji Navy captain, Josaia Buarua.

A traditional iTaukei ceremony of iVakama­maca was accorded to the players to honour their success.

It was special day for the Vanua o Navitilevu as the entertainment was provided by Senibua­sala and Drodrolagi Kei Nautusolo.
