Vodafone Fiji handed over $5000 to Fiji Swimming for the 2019 Fiji Swimming Long Course Age Group nationals which will be held at the Damodar City Aquatic Centre, Suva from tomorrow with the finals on Sunday.
Vodafone Fiji’s sponsorship manager Adriu Vakarau who presented the sponsorship to Fiji Swimming general manager David Dugu said they are excited to be part of this weekend’s event.
“We have been part of swimming before and we thank Fiji Swimming for giving us another opportunity,” he said.
“Swimming is an individual sport. One swimmer wins medal for the country and I think it’s just right to support them and we hope this relationship will carry on in years to come.”
Dugu acknowledged Vodafone’s support and confirmed that overseas clubs would be participating also.
“There will be 14 participating clubs from Fiji, four from Nadi and seven from Suva. There are four visiting teams, two from Australia, one each from Vanuatu and Tonga.
“Excited to see different age group competitions from under-10 to 17 and over will be competing. With this calibre of competition we’re grateful to Vodafone for their support which will lift the standard of competition,” Vakarau said.
