Security System Management Inc/ Oceania Fibreglass PTE Limited Tailevu/Naitasiri coach Tagi Vonolagi saluted his players for a gallant effort despite losing 5-2 to Extra Supermarket Labasa in their group’s final match of the Digicel Fiji FACT in Suva.
“My boys played two 90-minute football matches in two days and there has been a lot of injuries but we played on.
“We played 3 top football teams in the country, drew with two of them and we’ve come this far in the tournament,” the former national captain said yesterday.
Tailevu/Naitasiri drew first blood in the 15th minute when Mosese Nabose drove in their opening goal.
The goal woke up the Labasa players as they came back firing and in the 20th minute scored the equaliser through midfielder Ashnil Raju. Labasa dubbed the Babasiga Lions took the lead in the 43rd minute when striker Christopher Wasawasa tapped in their second goal.
