Former Nasinu and Ba striker Luke Savu made his debut for Labasa in the second half. Savu is the son of former national star striker Taito Bula.
Lautoka captain Zibraaz Sahib said they were happy to cone out winners.
“The boys stuck to their game plan, the objective was to press on as Labasa is a very aggressive side too,” he said.
Labasa head coach Thomas Vulivuli said he expected more from his players at this level.
“We did not click well, Lautoka worked hard and they deserved the win,” he added.
