Rubbing shoulders with international players is an experience that Janeiro Wakeham will share with the Vodafone Fiji under-20 side.

Standing at 2.08m tall, the France-based Savusavu native said his first season with Top 14 club Stade Français where he plays along Waisea Nayacalevu and Ngani Laumape.

“Being in France is really a good experience,” the 19-year-old lock said.

“For the first season, I have learnt a lot. Playing in Fiji and in France is a big difference.

“I will help he boys and give them what I know.

“There’s a lot of players from other countries too whom I have learnt a lot from - to be a good rugby player on and off the field too.

“I’m going to share with them what I know and I have learnt.”

Fiji, Australia, Argentina and New Zealand will be the four teams in the Under-20 Oceania championship at the Sunshine Coast Stadium in Queensland from July 1 to July 10.

“It will be a tough game against Australia and New Zealand and we will see what we can do,” he added.
