We Need To Stay Focused Against City, Says Striker

The Rewa FC faces their biggest test in the OFC Champions League 2022 when they face five-time winners Auckland City at the Ngahue Reserve on Monday.

“Focus is very important for us,” said Rewa FC’s Abbu Zahid after their 3-1 win over Nikao Sokattak FC on Friday. Zahid scored twice for the Delta Tigers while midfielder Tevita Waranaivalu got the other goal. The nippy striker was named the Player of the Match.

“Playing Auckland City is tough but we’ll play according to our game plan,” Zahid added.

Also, on Friday, City opened their campaign with a 5-0 drubbing of Hienghene FC.

City with three points leads Group B’s points table with a better goal average followed by Rewa.

Meanwhile, speaking from India, Fijian star striker Roy Krishna wished Rewa well in the OFC Champions League.

Krishna who recently signed with Hero Indian Super League club Bengaluru FC said, he was confident that Rewa can do the country proud in the competition.

Rewa’s clash against Auckland City, kicks off at 12pm.
