The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua head coach Mick Byrne said, their sterling performance against the Reds was based on their belief to become a competitive side in the Super Rugby Pacific competition.
Byrne was speaking after their narrow 33-28 loss to the Queensland Reds at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia, on Saturday night.
“We fought our way back from 28-9 down and I’m extremely proud of the players,” Byrne said.
“We believed in ourselves to go in and put on that performance. That belief was on our talent and the fact we can play these Super Rugby teams.”
He said the process started last November when they first reported to camp.
“We’ll keep on building on that belief,” Byrne added.
