Winning Start For Jaspers Williams High School Rugby Girls

Jasper Williams High School has registered their first win in the Lautoka Zone Secondary Schools Weet-Bix Raluve Trophy competition.

They beat Yasawa High School 17-0 at Churchill Park, Lautoka, on Friday.

It was a one way game as the Delainamoli girls scored three unanswered tries.

They led 12-0 in the first half with a try from halfback Melania Turaga in the 10th minute.

The conversion was unsuccessful from first five-eighth Milika Drugunavanua.

Drugunavanua ran in to score their second try and converted it.

Jasper Williams maintained their dominance in the second half and scored another unconverted try to seal the win.

Comment: Jasper Williams High School captain Drugunavanua said: "We're glad with the win. We thought Yasawa would be tougher as we heard they has been training along their shores.

"We thank God for the win and the support from our teachers and coaches."
