Magic Marlins player, Alesi Waqa-Paul, has attended to the nation’s call of duty, putting on her Police uniform to join the fight against COVID-19.

This was after she had completed the mandatory self-quarantine period when she arrived into the country, last month.

The Fijian Pearls mid-court player says this was her responsibility as a police officer and she is glad to be back on the job.

“My duty as a police officer is to protect life and property,” she said.

“For this fight for COVID–19 is a little bit different from all the operations I’ve been through since joining the Force in 2009.

“Even though I have less family time during this COVID-19 crisis but I still love my work.

“For this 24-hour road block we have been simply out here to minimise unnecessary movements so that people should stay indoors,” Waqa-Paul said.

“And again my advice to people is to stay home and save lives.”

The Fiji Police Force have been working tirelessly to keep all Fijians safe as the nationwide restrictions and curfew are still in place.

Waqa-Paul and five other Fijian netball players are back home after an early exit from the Singapore Netball Super League in March, due to the COVID – 19 pandemic.
